She started in 1960 and will likely come to an end in 2016. That’s a mighty effort for any nameplate, but particularly for one which was produced locally for nearly her entire tenure.
Love ’em or hate ’em, Holden Racing Team have been out there banging doors with their Ford competitors for two and a half decades. They’ve had quite a bit of success in that time with an especially dominant period in the late 90s and early 2000s.

This week it has been announced that Ford Australia will reduce its funding of Ford Performance Racing in 2015 and will offer no funding in 2016.
That’s a big deal, folks. But it’s happened before and a lot of people are hoping Ford will come back bigger and better when the Mustang takes over V8 Supercar duties in 2016.
